Seven years since the assassination of Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic

Belgrade, March 12th 2010.

Several events were held in Belgrade to honor Zoran Djindjic the assassinated Prime Minister of Serbia. Family of Mr. Djindjic along with President of Serbia Boris Tadic and citizens of Serbia honored Zoran Djindjic by laying wreaths on his grave in Belgrade.

Crystal Award to Zoran Djindjic Fund

Belgrade, February 24th 2010.

Crystal Award to Zoran Djindjic FundZoran Djindjic Fund has been awarded the Crystal Award for best youth project in 2009. The award was given to the Fund for Experiencing Europe Program implemented in cooperation with ADA and WUS Austria.

Experiencing Europe program opened new possibilities for young people in Serbia and it is a great example how NGOs can contribute to European integration of Serbia at a time when the government does not have the mechanisms for implementation of similar projects. At the same time, the Committee explained, this program promotes further cooperation of individuals, civil society organizations, institutions and business sector as well as international and regional cooperation. The committee was presided by Danilo Milic coordinator of the Olof Palme Center in Serbia.

The award was presented to the President of the Zoran Djindjic Fund, Mrs. Ruzica Djindjic.
 
Klaus Mangold visits the Fund

Belgrade, January 25th 2010.

Klaus Mangold and Ruzica DjindjicPresident of the Board of the German East European Committee visited Belgrade. He started his official visit at the Zoran Djindjic Fund where he met with Ruzica Djindjic. After the visit he held a discussion with the participants in the internship program of German Business. He talked about the importance of German Serbian relations and presented his views on the EU integration of Serbia. Mr. Mangold emphasized the significance of further contribution of participants in this program to the development of good relations between the two countries.

Mr. Mangold also met with high representatives of Serbian government and Serbian President Boris Tadic.
 
Dr Zoran Djindjic Award Ceremony 2009.

Novi Sad, December 23rd 2009.

Ruzica Djindjic and Dusan MrdjaDr Zoran Djindjic awards were presented today at the Government of Autonomous Province of Vojvodina . The awards are presented traditionally every year to honor the legacy and preserve the memory of Zoran Djindjic. Recipient of the main award is Dusan Mrdja a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Mathematics, University of Novi Sad. Dusan Mrdja said that award that bears the name of late Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic will be a lasting inspiration for his work.

President of Serbia Boris Tadic presented the award for best BA or MA thesis to Marjan Ivkovic, from the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade.

Award for best student at the University of Novi Sad was presented to Zlatko Emedji who graduated with honors.
 
Participants in the Zoran Djindjic Program travel to Germany

Belgrade, June 15th 2009.

The sixth generation of participants in the Zoran Djindjic Internship Program of German Business spend five days in Berlin preparing to start their internship in cities throughout Germany.

During their stay in Berlin participants had various meetings with the representatives of German business as well as a welcome reception at he Serbian Embassy. The reception was also held in the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations where the participants were greeted by Mr. Bodo Hombach former Coordinator of Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe. Mr. Hombach has been a great supporter of the Zoran Djindjic Program since its inception almost six years ago.

Besides the formal part of the program attended by fifty students and young expersts from Serbia and the region, participants had the chance to discover Berlin. After five days of meetings, discussions and sightseeing they departed to various cities in all parts of the country where they will spend up to six months working in some of the renowned German companies.
