The activities of the Zoran Djindjic Fund

cetvrtasti-latin.jpgThe Zoran Djindjic Fund was founded on the 15th December 2003, after the tragic murder of Zoran Djindjic, Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia. The Fund was founded with the help of his closest colleagues and friends. The chair of the Fund’s managing board is Mrs. Ružica Đinđić. The Fund was established with the aim of continuing to promote the values which Zoran Djindjic strove towards.

Since 2004., Zoran Djindjic Fund, together with the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations has been working on the Zoran Djindjic Internship Program of German Business, the aim of which is to give qualified young people the chance to gain three or six months of vocational experience in some of the best-known German companies. The internships are intended for final-year university students and for qualified graduates still gaining their initial work experience. The students gain their experience in some of the major German companies, in a range of industries: the automobile industry, energy, electrical engineering, electronics, banking, business, construction, trade, aeronautics, agricultural technology and cartography.

The Zoran Djindjic Fund also organizes educational seminars for participants in the internship program, as well as for other young people. The aim of the seminars is to familiarize the coming generations of socially active young people with the process of European Union integration in Serbia, as well as with the current state of affairs in the area of democratic and economic reform.


Dr Zoran Djindjic Fund together with Austrian Development Cooperation and organization WUS Austria launched an internship program titled Experiencing Europe: Serbian Young Professionals in Austria - Zoran Djindjic Internship Program. The aim of the program is to help advance professional skills of young people from Serbia and gain new skills and experience that will help them in their future work in Serbia.

The Zoran Djindjic Fund, in cooperation with the People’s Office of the President of Serbia, has launched the 1000 Young Leaders of Serbia Project. This project is intended as a long-term strategic investment in the Serbia’s human potential. The goal is to promote the values of entrepreneurial initiative, effort and success as the only means to building a stable and modern democratic society, through the activities of young qualified people and leaders in various fields.

The Zoran Djindjic Fund is one of the youngest organizations in Serbia, but has experience in its favour, along with a clear commitment to the principles of a modern, progressive and educated society, a society with tolerance and respect for diversity, both cultural and political. The Fund is non-partisan and non-political.
