20 Years since the Fall of Berlin Wall

Read more: 20 Years since the Fall of Berlin WallZoran Djindjic Foundation organized a lecture to mark the 20th anniversary since the fall of Berlin Wall. The lecture was held by Mr. Vladimir Pavicevic, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Political Science in Belgrade. In his lecture, Mr. Pavicevic focused on the importance of this historical event both for Europe and for Germany. He also concentrated on the developments in former Yugoslavia after 1989, the collapse of the state and rise of nationalism.

Mr. Pavicevic co-edited the book titled Consolidation of Democracy-20 years after the Fall of Berlin Wall, published by Faculty of Political sciences and Konrad Adenauer foundation.

Ruzica Djindjic and Veran Matic recipients of

Belgrade, 22nd October 2009.

Mr Jean Francois Terrall awarded French medal "Légion d'honneur" in the degree of Knight to Mrs. Ruzica Dindjic Founder and President of the Managing Board of Zoran Djindjic Foundation. The medal was officially awarded today at the French Embassy. Besides Mrs. Djindjic recipient for this year is Mr. Veran Matic, President of the Management Board of TV b92.

Ambassador Terral said that the aim was to honor the legacy of first democratically elected Prime Minister of Serbia Zoran Djindjic but also personal to recognize contribution of Mrs. Djindjic and her dignity.

"Surname Djindjic is a symbol of democracy and the European future for Serbia.

French President Nikolas Sarkozy decided to award the highest recognition to Ružica Đinđić and Veran Matić on July 8th earlier this year.

Farewell reception for 3rd generation of Experiencing Europe Program

Belgrade, September 10. 2009.

Read more: Farewell reception for 3rd generation of Experiencing Europe ProgramFarewell reception was held today at the National Bank of Serbia for third generation of participants in the Experiencing Europe - Serbian Young Professionals in Austria Internship program. Interns will spend three months working in numerous companies and institutions throughout Austria.

President Boris Tadic addressed the guests expressing his satisfaction with the fact that these young people will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in an EU country. "Austria is a leader in the fields of security, administration, social policy, transportation and communication. Austria is a good role model for Serbia".

Austrian ambassador H.E. Mr. Clemens Koya said: "Austria supports Serbia on its way towards European Union. We believe that Serbia needs young people who experienced European way of life and who are capable to bring European values to Serbia" .

First group of participants in the program will start their internship in September 2009. and second group will travel to Austria in January 2010. They will be situated in Vienna and Graz. Some of the institutions where the interns will be placed are Diplomatic Academy, Austrian Technological Institute and numerous NGOs.
